Confirmed from Three Peaks Recreation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring biking trails, rock crawling, a model-plane field, picnicking, pavilions & more.
What runners say about Three Peaks Recreation Area
“Rock when it comes here, the rocks are perfect, the scenery is beautiful and the trails are fun!”
This place is really beautiful in the evening when the sun is setting. You can see the light receding from the distant mountains (where the 'C' is), and you see the town start to light up. The rocky hills are fun to explore when it is cooler outside, and the hike can be as long or as short as you make it.
Good place for ATVs dirt bikes and mountain biking. The rocks are a lot of fun for letting kids to run around on. It's mainly dirt, brush and Junipers but a nice place if you just want to build a fire and get out in the open.
Excellent work by DMBTA and the trail Builders here. This is a very fun location with lots of great features great Trail markings and easy navigation with maps everywhere.
A great place to begin mountain biking they have trails that are for beginners and some that are more advanced.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
