Confirmed from Tilden Nature Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring easy & challenging hiking trails with scenic views & wildlife sightings.
What runners say about Tilden Nature Area
“If you've got little kids, the mini farm is awesome to check out and feed the animals and if you're looking for beautiful hiking trails , Tilden has that in abundance.”
I've lived in the Bay Area all my life and have never been here. What a hidden gem! If you've got little kids, the mini farm is awesome to check out and feed the animals and if you're looking for beautiful hiking trails , Tilden has that in abundance. Oh....and it's free?!
We finally got to take the grandson to a small petting zoo for free. He had so much feeding the livestock animals which included cows, sheep, goats, bunnies, chickens, and ducks, and also saw 2 huge pigs It's a great place to bring the kiddos to learn about animals and run around in the grassy field If you come bring…
Only did a small quick hike here but it was beautiful! Most of the trails are wide and very flat. Good for mountain biking, walking dogs, going for runs. Mostly low in the trees but maybe it goes up to! There was a little path through the trees with wooden path!
Always a beautiful spot to hike, be a quick loop or an all day adventure. Trails are marked and parking is plentiful. Dogs allowed on some trails. These photos are from the Jewel Lake Loop! Definitely worth a visit. Another stellar East Bay park
