Confirmed from Codornices Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Codornices Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (896 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Scenic, never too crowded, a feeling of community, with the sounds of a baseball game in the park”

Perfect place for kids and adults! There is a short trail for sightseeing or relax. Two playgrounds for kids, one is for little ones, the other is for elder kids. The kid really loves the concrete slide! Several picnic areas, big grassland, basketball courts, tennis courts, you name it.

★★★★★ — Angel , Aug 2021

Lovely park with a great playground and a gigantic concrete slide. Make sure to use cardboard as you go down and be careful not to scrape yourself as you go down. The trails are nice. There is a beautiful rose garden across the street.

★★★★★ — Ben , Mar 2024

Codornices is an expansive park opposite the Berkeley Rose Garden. Great for families and all ages. There are play structures for both smaller and older children. The concrete slide is recommended for all - even brave adults who can keep their elbows and knees in!

★★★★★ — Anon , Jun 2024

Absolutely fun park to take your kids. They have different structures for different aged kids, separated by area. The grass area is plenty large for different kid parties. There is a hiking trail around the area and a concrete slide! What I didn't like was a reasonable restroom to take a toddler.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
