Confirmed from Tippecanoe Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tippecanoe Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (136 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“There's also a giant, tree-less field which is great for kites, running the dog, or playing games.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 5 mentions

“Very nice for walking, dog friendly and football game every Saturday morning.”

Very nice for walking, dog friendly and football game every Saturday morning.

★★★★☆ — Terry , Oct 2017

Paved path around the interior. There are a few places where there are deep ruts on both sides of the path. Parks dept. Works drive their pickups straddling the path making the ruts deeper. Nice for dog walking although lots of people let there dogs go off lease. Splash pad open occasionally in the summer.

★★★★☆ — John , Jan 2019

A lovely, spacious park with paths, perfect for walking or going for a jog. I grew up going to this park so I have many fond memories there. I will say there is excess space that is not being utilized. My suggestion would be pickleball courts! There is a cricket slab so why not some pickleball courts?

very nice, friendly neighborhood park. Just a reminder to all dog walkers....please be responsible, keep an eye on your dog so you don't miss the next dump it will take while it is off the leash....too many children, young and old playing on the grass area and adults cutting across grass....

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
