Confirmed from Tobico Marsh Big Loop Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with lookout towers and wide-ranging trails where you might see wildlife.

“It's beautiful and peaceful May want to break some bug spray.”
Lovely walk, well maintained trails and the viewing towers are easy to climb. Saw eagles and trumpeter swans!
Love this place! Easy to use walking trails with markers and a super cool view from the towers!
First timers. We biked with our non trail bicycles. You know the ones with the thin tires that are good for rolling on pavement. The path was dirt and sometimes a little sandy but it didn’t deter. Eventually, we found pavement and rode to Bay City State Park and back. Lots of critters.
Very nice loop trail, about 2.6 miles or so round trip. Pretty flat, well-traveled hard packed trail with just a couple soft spots. Great wildlife viewing, especially from the top of the northern tower overlooking the marsh. Tons of mushrooms growing along the trail when I went, too!
Trail conditions & character
“The overlook that towers offer good views, although you can feel the tower moving at the top, which is a little erie.”
“The road in could use some new gravel to fill in the pot holes but other than that it's a nice place for short hikes and wildlife viewing.”
“Easy to use walking trails with markers and a super cool view from the towers!”
“Good walking trails, appeared to have a nice boardwalk to marsh at one time but all falling apart, trees falling on it and cannot walk down.”

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
