Confirmed from Tommy Thompson Trail, MARCH'S POINT RD's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tommy Thompson Trail, MARCH'S POINT RD

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (53 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Beautiful walkway, but kind of ends abruptly at a road which requires you to turn around.”

First of all, this is a highly recommended place, and it's a great place to walk or ride a bike. I explored this place on foot first, and then I rode a bicycle. I think it's even better for cycling, but the trail is connected to the downtown of Anacortes, so it's the best trail to watch the sunrise in the early…

Unique place to observe God's creation and man's innovation. The bridge with continues paved path are a wonderful route for an early sunrise or sunset walk. Traffic noise can be heard but the nature sounds are distinct and bring a sense of calm! Depending on the breeze, refinery odor is present, but not overwhelming.

I love this trails, yes I know I say that a lot but it is true. Clementine (my dog) and I like to walk, instead of me going to the gym we try and find a trail that is easy on her paws and open for my safety and hers.

★★★★★ — Ms. , Feb 2018

First time on this trail with my dog. Gorgeous Spring Day. We hiked the entire trails and hiked to downtown Anacortes to Cap Sante. We did about 7 miles. Amazing water views and Mount Baker in the distance. This place is great for all kinds, walking/hiking, skating, biking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 15 mentions

“It's easy to enjoy the view and go, and the walking path with the dogs is a paved road, so I don't think it's very good, but it's the best pleasure to walk together.”
