Confirmed from Sugarloaf Mountain Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking spot with several trails that vary from flat to steep.
What runners say about Sugarloaf Mountain Trailhead
“The parking area and entrance is located immediately off the road in a beautiful rural setting of homes and farms on hills over looking lakes and hills.”
A little off the beaten path, but worth the trip. This is very popular with the locals. The parking area and entrance is located immediately off the road in a beautiful rural setting of homes and farms on hills over looking lakes and hills.
The trail condition is really good. Not too muddy recently. (Early spring) However, it’s a really steep hike though and also with lots of bugs (kind of annoying). The sugarloaf trail is connected to the mount Erie trail. You can do the small hike just in sugarloaf mountain for about 2 to 2.5 miles round trip.
For a hike it was on the shorter side and pretty easy if you are an active person. Great panoramic views! Driving directions to get there were easy. Definitely take a picture of the trail map because there are a lot of trails. Also try to get there early as parking fills up.
Beautiful forest and views make the confusing trail system worth it. Remember to have a detailed map, i ended up using Strava and Google maps because AllTrails and the trailhead map were confusing.
