Confirmed from Touisset Marsh Wildlife Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Picturesque refuge known for its abundant wildlife & lush walking trails in a coastal setting.
What runners say about Touisset Marsh Wildlife Refuge
“Beautiful and peaceful and I'm sure the wildlife knows it too.”
“Beautiful and peaceful and I'm sure the wildlife knows it too.”
“A very scenic and easy hike.”
Beautiful little hike and didn’t run into people! Equally parts in the shade and in the sun! Lovely areas to stop and look at the scenery. Lots of little critters and even animal tracks to see. Would advise sunscreen and tall socks! Was pretty muddy because we went after a day of rain!
Today is the first day of fall classes in Rhode Island schools and many parents will have to work with their children on distance learning. I can think of few places better than the Touisset March Wildlife Refuge to take a child to expose them to the wonders of nature.
Touisset Marsh Wildlife Refuge is a well-preserved sanctuary that balances recreation with conservation. The trails are thoughtfully maintained to protect wildlife, and the refuge encourages eco-friendly practices, making it a great spot for nature lovers who value sustainability.
