Confirmed from Trace State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Trace State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (364 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 12 mentions

“We really enjoyed this park - it’s well maintained (except the roads - they’re really rutted and difficult to drive) and the facilities and park itself are great.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“The staff was very friendly, the park is beautiful & clean & the cabins are great for the family!”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 6 mentions

“Fairly densely wooded, quiet, and feels safe.”

Rugged ATV trails were very enjoyable. The paths covered a lot of ground. At times they were difficult to find or follow; but overall a well kept park. Easy to spend a lot of time there. We plan on returning to camp in the future.

We spent 3 nights, camping and riding OHV trails and it was fantastic. The park is super clean and well maintained. Rangers are friendly and helpful. RV pads are flat and bug free, no ants to be seen. The OHV trails offer a little bit of everything for all levels of rider.

Overall, a very lovely park with a beautiful lake and fun hiking/mountain biking trails. Comfortable RV spots. 2 playgrounds for the kiddos and even a laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers. Lots to do in nearby Tupelo, especially if you like Elvis!!

★★★★☆ — Ania , Oct 2020

One of our favorite campgrounds within a short drive from Memphis. Nice lake for fishing and water sports. A variety of trails for hiking, horse back riding and off-road vehicles. They have a couple of 18 hole disc-golf courses. Campsites available go from primitive to full hookups. Great park!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
