The Upper Canyon Road trailhead connects hikers to the Dale Ball Trails that weave their way throughout Santa Fe and eventually connect adventurers to the Santa Fe National Forest and the Pecos Wilderness. Trails are well marked and heavily used by both beginners and advanced hikers.
Cool location for trail running! Note that there’s no parking lot at this exact location. Park down the road at the Dale Ball trailhead, where there’s a porta potty and an actual parking lot.
Great trail. Mostly sunny. Lots of choices of short, long and in between trails. Great for short or long hikes and easy for kids, dogs or bad knee hikers.
Perfect place to walk.. five stars... Lots of good birding and easy for people to go birding who don't have much mobility
