Confirmed from Turkey Creek Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve featuring hiking trails, picnic tables, and swimming areas.
What runners say about Turkey Creek Nature Preserve
“Nice clean place to enjoy cold water fun on a hot day.”
“Great hiking, beautiful falls, and really cool wildlife.”
“Hands down one of my favorite places as well as my peaceful place.”
I've been coming here since I was in high-school and every time I'm in Pinson I have to stop by. It's amazing to see all of the conservation work they've done as there wasn't even a paved road in sight when this was our summer hangout spot before 2010! Hands down one of my favorite places as well as my peaceful place.
Great hiking, beautiful falls, and really cool wildlife. This is a special place in Birmingham that deserves a ton of respect for the nature and beauty it provides! My son and I find it like a second home when we can’t go to our family land on the Conasauga!
Trekking and cycling are popular activities in Turkey Creek Natural Preserve. It also has trails for birdwatching. Nonetheless, the water's distinct rock formations set it apart from other neighboring waterfalls. A complimentary parking area was an added bonus, and visitors are not charged for entry.
We come here sometimes to walk the trails. My wife, the children, and I take turns walking the trails in front of the strangers here to crop dust and then see the reactions on their dumbfounded faces. It completes me as a person to bring this kind of joy into my children’s lives. The views are nice too I guess.

“would get 5 stars but cops and park guys are ninnies and made a guy who was drinking a beer with family members and a couple people with dogs leave.”
“The creek is really rocky and not deep in most places, so it's best to bring water shoes.”
