Confirmed from Turkey Creek Walk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A nice marina restaurant (The Local's Eatery) is an easy walk from the south parking lot.”

We had a super fabulous time tubing the creek and take the walk to each dock! Some folks were just swimming the creek or brought 1 pool noodle!

Are you looking for something to do? Checkout Turkey Creek Walk. Elevated walkway meanders 2 mile down and back through a wooded jungle with various plant identification. Swim, canoe, or walk along the flowing creek at your own risk. Creek has a sandy bottom and flows fairly quickly.

Nice boardwalk stroll along a creek. Multiple docks along the way to take a swim if desired. Creek relatively shallow. First half is close to the roadway so there is a bit of noise. Quiets down as you go. Path is almost exactly a mile long, so good for exercise walkers that wasn't a set distance.

Came down to visit my son at Elgin and this will be a forever stop for us now. This is just an all around great place beautiful walk and river tubing perfect entertainment for the kids and it’s free! On top of it all The park rangers were super friendly and helpful and the pavilion was beautiful and immaculately kept.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
