Our Boy Scout troop hiked the recently opened trail from Memorial Park in Quakertown, to the edge of Coopersburg where the Saucon Rail Trail starts. The new trail was in great shape, featuring a hard pack surface that was almost like pavement in most places.

Cross the the headwaters of the Tohickon Creek watershed. 800-foot long boardwalk in Springfield Township constructed of Cumaru, a Brazilian teakwood that was selected for its high durability and low maintenance. Richland and Springfield Townships will maintain the Upper Bucks Rail Trail.
