Confirmed from Utah Lake State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Beautiful sunsets, fishing, new park, big swimming area (shallow), sea birds, airplanes, restrooms, boating, photography, frozen ice in winter.”

🌳 shaded & cool 6 mentions

“The flat, paved “Provo River” bike path is absolutely delightful, with cottonwood-shaded waterbird habitat on one side and mountain views on the other.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“We went on a Thursday morning, so there weren't very many people- it was peaceful & beautiful to listen to all the birds.”

Best kept secret in Utah Valley! Beautiful spot to enjoy nature. Hike along the Provo River estuary, watch the ducks, geese, and pelicans looking for food in the water, and watch the sunset. 5-6 boat ramps and plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. Opportunities to boat, kayak, sail, fish, and all water sports.

Lovely spot for birders between a marsh and a lake, with enthusiastic dawn chorus and spectacular mountain views. The quiet campground is clean, and not buggy in April. There’s a marina for boating and a bike path by the campground.

We love Utah lake campground because it has everything we need here. Lots of camp sites that all have hookups. Restrooms that are clean and stocked with soap and T.P. Flushing toilets. Hot showers! Covered picnic tables, BBQ grill, fire rings all in your site. Huge playground.

Nice grassy spots w/ each spot having a covered area w/a picnic table. We have 4 dogs & were allowed to put up fencing. There were also many places to walk our dogs. Clean restrooms & shower houses. We were there for 2 weeks & would definately reccomend this RV park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 17 mentions

“We personally don't swim in the lake or really do anything that involves the lake but we definitely do enjoy the ever changing views you get by being right next to it.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
