Confirmed from V&E Greenline's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic trail for outdoor recreation and walking, located in Midtown.
What runners say about V&E Greenline
“Beautiful place for a nice refreahing walk and moment of peace and away from all the technology nonsense”
community-owned trail. The first rails to trails project in Memphis, still going strong after 25 years.
A nice little place to jog or walk, with the big blue people sitting alone the way. It's in the middle of the city, but if you like to bike, you can head all the way out to east Memphis, if you want to. Great to bring kids and families, and you can stop by crosstown concourse if you have the time.
Great neighborhood trail, husband tries to take our dog every morning, he walks from Jackson/near Rhodes to the end at Cleveland near the Big Kids art sculptures & back - just about 2.5 miles. We loved their annual “Art Walk” event a couple of weeks ago & will be back next year.
The original rails-to-trails walking/biking path in Memphis, this trail makes up for it's relative brevity with well-marked crossings, lots of garden views, shade, friendly people, and a wonderful destination at the Crosstown Concourse.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
