Confirmed from Valley Garden Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

This is a great place to just take a walk, sit on a bench or on a blanket and relax. I enjoy the sounds of nature from the stream and the birds, it's like music to my ears. The trees are Beautiful!

Valley Garden Park is one of those not so famous places. But, I guess it does have a lot of competition with showstoppers like Longwood Gardens, Wintertur, Hagley Museum, and Nemours Estate in the area. (All a part of the duPont family legacy.

A ridiculously beautiful park tucked away in a sparsely populated, wooded area of Greenville 🌲 Just like most parks the cold season isn’t going to look anything like it does in the summer / fall.

★★★★★ — Rhys , Nov 2024

We took our puppy to this park for his first park experience and it was great! It was the perfect place for him to meet other dogs and to experience different situations like people running by him. Not to mention it is just a beautiful park to walk around in.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
