Confirmed from Valley Stream State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Community park with family & exercise nature trails plus ball fields & spots for horseshoes & bocce.
What runners say about Valley Stream State Park
“Safe and clean community park, very nice place for a BBQ or family picnic if you reside in Queens or Valley stream with not much backyard space.”
“I can already imagine myself enjoying a delicious burger while surrounded by picturesque scenery.”
I love visiting this park for grill outs. No matter how busy it seems to get, there's always a grill available. I also love the path for walking around the park. I haven't personally ridden a bike on the path, but I have seen others do so as well as roller skate.
This is a beautiful state park for BBQing, bicycling, kids activities, etc. There are many grill stations. There is a pavillion as well. Restrooms are mostly clean with lots of soap and hand sanitizer. If you walk around, you will definitely spot rabbits or two! $8 entrance fee until 6 pm.
Always love coming here as this place is so gorgeous and just big for the area. There's bird watching, hiking, kids' activities, family workshops for animals, there's absolutely no shortage of things to do here.
Valley Stream State Park is one of my favorite local spots. It’s literally two exits before my home, so I find myself stopping by all the time. Whether I need to clear my head, get a quick walk in, or just breathe some fresh air, it’s the perfect place. The park is always well-kept, peaceful, and easy to access.
