Confirmed from Veterans Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

ScenicDog-friendly

Sprawling venue for 18-hole disc golf, hiking trails, a dog park and a splash playground.

What runners say about Veterans Memorial Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (265 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 6 mentions

“Beautiful park and well maintained, great place to take the kids or walk.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“As we soared into the sky I tried to ignore the pain of the talons digging into my back, instead focusing on the great view of the park.”

Once a park used by thugs, gangs and others you would like to avoid, now a wonderful, clean, well maintained Park used by anyone without worry thanks to the volunteers that have built and improved the 90 acre park with a fist class 18 hole disc golf course.

This is a great place to take a walk with a friend and get a good workout. Beautiful and well kept. I love the trails up into the woods and the scenery around the pond. It's lovely. In summer my teens love putting their feet in the creek.

Beautiful park and well maintained, great place to take the kids or walk. You can even bring the dog!

★★★★★ — Gregg , Nov 2021

I have been walking these woods since I was a young girl. It never disappoints. The bit of green popping through, spring has sprung and I can't wait for summer hikes

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 8 mentions

“THe paths are clear of excessive brush, poison ivy, pricker bush, dead trees and anything else that would hinder a disc golf player, hiker, dog walker, or any outdoors activity!”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
