Confirmed from Veterans Memorial Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Veterans Memorial Park
“They have it well maintained and have a sign that talks alot about the information of the tank.”
“It was very quiet and dark which was nice.”
I did not go in the park because of COVID restrictions. However, I have been many times before. It's a very nice park. And even Fireworks shows and County Fairs. Plus, a walking trail by the creek and playground equipment for the children. I am updating this many of the restrictions have been lifted now. So have fun.
Nice & QUIET! Plenty of room. Close to downtown Mt. Airy. Sites are full hookup. Sites are close but level. Walking trails nearby or just walk around the park. Was able to watch the 4th of July fireworks in the comfort of our motorhome. Even enjoyed a classic car show & swap meet there as well. GREAT PARK!!
We rode our bikes on the river walk. This is a great place. We rode down town Danville and had a great lunch at The old 97 Tavern. The food was great and the service was great as well. We would definitely go back to the river walk.
Beautiful, well kept Memorial Park to walk around and have a picnic or event at.
Trail conditions & character
“We didn't use any of the bathrooms so can't speak to those.”
