Confirmed from Victory Landing Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A Hidden gem in Newport News Victory Landing Park, located in Newport News, Virginia, is a waterfront spot hidden from view by an office building and a memorial arch. Newport News near this part seems a little run down. It is a very nice place for relaxing or taking in scenic views of the James River.

It's a chill little spot with great scenery by the water. A great place to go on a date and go for a walk. Chill, think or meditate or just be in tune with nature.

★★★★★ — Vibez , Sep 2024

A small park nested behind the city, you'll have to walk a block to get there. At the park, you can visit the arch, or go to the park and walk around. The park itself is small and behind a Newport News Shipbuilding building, but still beautiful nonetheless. Here, you are right along the ocean.

A nice little park. Great walking space. Ran into friendly people. Amazing view. I think I broke rules to get to the beach

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
