Confirmed from Matteson Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Paved trail for biking or running that winds around a golf course and is shaded in spots.

This is an amazing trail. It is all paved, perfect for strollers, wheelchairs, bikes, skates, and rollerblades. There is lots of wildlife, too many squirrels to count. I've also seen deer and the occasional King Snake (good boi) crossing the trail early in the morning. Lots of variations of plants native to Virginia.

Love this place SO much. Great train on asphalt that winds around the golf course with most of the 3 miles shaded by trees! Say hi to the deer and squirrels as you get your steps on! Very safe with super friendly fellow walkers, runners, joggers, cyclists and even some skaters!
A beautiful trail, perfect for walking , running, or biking! It’s paved the entire way. Lots of trees and shade. There are benches in a few places along the loop. I will definitely go back sometime! There’s also a frisbee golf course along parts of the trail.
