Confirmed from Vitruvian Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Enjoyed checking out this beautiful park and exploring the park loop trail as well as the connecting Brookhaven College jogging trail that loops around the campus. Great place to go if you like water and bridges, perfect for photo shoots too.

What a beautiful way to be outdoors and enjoy the lights with family or date night! There are so many trees, all beautifully lit! Some surrounding apartments have their balconies all festive, too! It's best to go on a weekday night to get parking and less of a crowd.

Idyllic urban park in Addison. A walking trail around the Farmers Branch Creek provides an enjoyable experience and views including man-made islands with bridges and a small lake created by dams. It's a pleasant and relatively quiet place to take a stroll or relax under the trees on the benches.

We visited Vitruvian Park during the Christmas season and it has become a yearly tradition for us. The lights cover every part of the park and create a clear and bright view from every angle. You get easy parking, wide walking paths, and plenty of space to slow down and enjoy the setup.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

💡 Lit for night running 22 mentions

“Lovely park for a walk or run all year around but especially beautiful in the evenings during Christmas time to see all the lights.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
