Confirmed from Watersong Wild Space's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Urban playa lake habitat with hiking trails & wildlife spotting from viewing platforms & blinds.
What runners say about Watersong Wild Space
“The trails and natural areas are beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained.”
“My family had a lovely time here, we got to take many photos and enjoyed scenic views.”
“The winding paths, shaded areas, informational signs, and little hidden spots to stop and observe all encourage you to slow down and actually enjoy the environment around you.”
“The mile and three quarter walk was full of surprises with new views around every bend, wildlife, peaceful water, and scenery you’d never imagine seeing in Midland.”
“Definitely not hard to walk the entire trail very beginner friendly to those who want to exercise a little and start somewhere.”
WHAT AN AMAZING WILDLIFE PRESERVE! This place is amazing for a nice walk with family, friends or even by yourself. The loop around the preserve is about 1.45 miles long with a few turn outs into heavily wooded areas or views of the lake.
The Wildlife Pressure was suggested to us by a friend and I am glad we finally made time to come walk the trail. We come out to Midland and Odessa every few months and I have never seen so much greenery in the area! It is beautiful! They had ample signs about closing times and wildlife cautions.
Beautiful preserve, does not look like midland at all. Very well maintained and the trail is about 1.5 miles. Saw plenty of nature and they have a pond.
My favorite place in Midland now. Beautiful trails that make you feel like you're not even in West Texas! It's fun because you run into few people while you're there and the experience is really personal. Really cool nature trails with interesting landscapes. Clean environment as well.
