Confirmed from Watsessing Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Multi-use recreation area featuring senior center, sports fields, off-leash dog area & river.
What runners say about Watsessing Park
“They have bathrooms i believe close at 7pm in case you want to change however the bathroom attendant needs to clean the male restroom a little more better.”
“Beautiful on a quiet morning but I also enjoy the energy at the less quiet times in this park - basketball, track, a new play ground and a splash park in the summer.”
“Bring a beach chair if you like to sit in the shade, plenty of benches but most are not by any shade.”
this park is so perfect. it’s really big and has plenty of space to play and change your environment. there’s a path to walk alongside a beautiful scenery of nature. there’s also a basketball court. parking isn’t a hassle !
Great location. Playground and water sprinkler for kids. Walking track and basketball. Walking path along the entire park. Best of all clean bathrooms. Only thing missing is some picnic tables.
I haven't taken a walk in Watsessing Park for several years, and I must say Essex county does a nice job with maintaining the area. The playground area for children is very nice, and walking area around the circumference of the park is pretty level/smooth.
Surprising gem of a park located alongside the Garden State Parkway on busy Bloomfield Avenue. This is a massive county park that continues back from Bloomfield Avenue to the Bloomfield-Glen Ridge-Orange border.
