Confirmed from Waxhaw Downtown Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Clean park featuring playground equipment as well as a stream.
What runners say about Waxhaw Downtown Park
“The pavilions are exceptionally clean.”
Fantastic park! Water features, swings, playground, and this awesome bike loop, our kids loved everything. The interactive stream was a big hit with the little guy, and the pump track kept all of them entertained for ages.
Waxhaw Downtown Park recently opened to the public. The park is tucked at an entrance to a neighborhood with its own parking lot so you don't have to park on the road. There is a huge picnic area that is under shelter with the kids' playground area not too far from there.
I love coming here to walk with my Italian Greyhound named Enzo. People are always friendly and there's a paved walking path we follow. Love to stop at the pond, and we see baby ducks a lot. Too cute. Here are some photos I took, different times we visited.
Didn't stay long the park closes at 8pm everyday. The kids loved it plenty of space to play run around. The water features are nice you can watch the kids from chairs along the features.
Trail conditions & character
“There is a great water feature that the kids can climb on rocks and walk in a man made stream.”
“It is a great place to take your kids to play or walk your dog along the trails.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
