Confirmed from Weigand Riverfront Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (195 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“The river is fun, shallow enough in most spots to be good for kids, and has some great views.”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“This is a nice small park with small shade trees and a few picnic tables and benches to sit at.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Small beautiful and very peaceful.”

This park is close to my home and heart ❤️ We play in the river in the summer. I bike past it year round a trail that runs next to the river. We watch the geese and ducks swim in the water. The view changes with seasons and I never get tired of it.

Beautiful stop on the Dupage River trail. This is a beautiful biking trail along side the DuPage river. The canopy of trees over the trail makes it very pleasent to bike walk or jog. It provides a nice shade during the warm.summer days and is absolutely gorgeous after rain showers.

★★★★★ — Madhu , Jun 2018

Enjoyed walking this trail along the river once we were further from the main road. A lot of bikes and other pups. We definitely would like to go back during warmer weather.

★★★★☆ — Lauren , Mar 2024

Nice spot to park and bike-run-walk along the shaded trail along the DuPage West Branch River. Very close to Washington Street, so you can sometimes hear or see the traffic. Many varieties of birds. Stay in your lane because there are many cyclists. Friendly people with ready smiles and a quick hello.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 10 mentions

“This park is at the DuPage River and you can cross part way across the river by walking on some rocks and at that place you have a nice view Up and Down the River.”
