Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I SO love THIS place!!!! Certainly a must go to for me. Seems like every time I go, I’m the only one here. The path is a little over a mile and it curves. It’s perfect getaway. There’s two path you can take. The shorter path is less than a mile if not half. Filled with trees. Beautiful sight to behold in all season.

Quiet little forest preserve in Western DuPage County. Two decent size pond/lakes for fishing or relaxing. The parking lot is clean with a port a potty. The trails are rock covered and grass growing through the rocks. While there didn't see another person.

I hiked to the DuPage River this weekend. Beginner friendly trail. The trail had nice curves along the trail. Hiked the Red Oak trail 1.2 miles and half of the West branch 1.4 miles. It started getting dark so we headed back to eat our lunch. I was hoping to see some Coyotes from a far but didn’t see one here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
