Confirmed from White Rock Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Easy, kid-friendly trail and park featuring carved animal sculptures and views of White Rock Creek..
What runners say about White Rock Creek Trail
“Safe, Clean and you feel like your in the Wilderness”
“Short and beautiful trail with carved sculptures 😇 please be aware of the private property signs!”
“There is shade and there are 2 drinking fountains on the route I took.”
“If you want to find peace and quiet with water and bird sounds away from the hustle bustle of the city in Addison area, this cute little creek trail wont disappoint.”
Such a great place to take a walk! Safe, Clean and you feel like your in the Wilderness
The trail is very short. There is shade and there are 2 drinking fountains on the route I took. I wanted a longer trail, but it’s a 2 mile loop. Beautiful houses and scenery!
Parking is a little scarce; I ended up at a business up the hill on a corner lot and walked down. Took my 2 dogs, this park is nestled behind a beautiful community of homes. The trail is wide shaded and wooded. There are several steep drop offs but one that I found we could climb down with rock stairs.
Clean and easy “Urban Hiking” trail. Tree lined and covered path (wide sidewalks). A few cut-ins to natural walking paths down to the water. Look for some shells and skip some rocks. Fun for a quick walk or a few loops to get those steps in.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
