Family and I visited Whitehall State Park for the very first time today. We were looking for some trails that were not basic but had some active maneuvering. The trails are marked green (more enjoyable for terrain) and yellow (near the water) to help guide you.
Whitehall Reservoir is a hidden gem. Beautiful scenery and a great little hiking trail system around it. There is a lack of official trailheads and parking, so it’s not as convenient to get to if you don’t live nearby.
Trail is ~8.5 miles, 19k steps, 3+ hours all the way around the reservoir. Beautiful hike and time well spent. Well defined trail for the majority of the loop. Bring a water bottle and snack.
Such an amazing state park especially during the fall season. Great trail for an easy hike as well as a long trail for a great couple hour adventure! Will definitely come back to enjoy the scenery and the lake as well!!
