Confirmed from Whiteoak Canyon Falls Lower Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Whiteoak Canyon Falls Lower Trailhead
“7:20AM Started the trail 7:54 Saw the 1st waterfall Beautiful water falls, can get really close to some.”
Fantastic hike in the Shenandoah National Park. You can do this as an out and back or as a 9 mile loop from the lower parking lot. I think it's roughly one and a half miles into the lower falls and another mile past that to the upper falls - both are worth seeing.
Absolutely stunning waterfalls. My boyfriend and I hiked the entire trail. I fell in love with each and every waterfall as most of them differ from each other. The sounds of the waterfalls really relax you. We were even lucky enough to find a CRAWFISH underneath the rocks!! Also a snail near the trail!!!
Family friendly walk to the first water fall. Its about two miles from the parking lot. There is an overflow parking lot that is $10. Porter potties available. Entrance fee required - $30 for one time or annual pass for $55. Most folks are friendly and will greet you along the way.
This is a moderate hike. It’s 9 miles around however the first three miles are tough. I only did the three miles and it was enough for me. The park rangers are very friendly and offer great advise. They will tell you everything that you need to know. Bring lots of water and a camera for pictures.
