Confirmed from Whitman Walk at Crystal Springs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed, scenic spot featuring quiet footpaths with benches, and a boardwalk near a stream.
What runners say about Whitman Walk at Crystal Springs Park
“Grew up here just wanted to see if it still look the same and it's as beautiful as ever very tranquil”
“There’s quite a bit of homes around where we entered but it was still so peaceful.”
Hardly even made our way through the walk and we’re so in awe. Cant wait to come back. The water is so still and beautiful. There’s quite a bit of homes around where we entered but it was still so peaceful.
This is not a huge park with much to see. It's more a landmark for where Walt Whitman spent time reflecting and writing. It's been cleaned up well and the wooden walks they added make it a comfortable place for a short stroll.
What an awesome little park. The living springs are sweet. The Whitman walk is peppered with quotes from Walt Whitman carved into the pathway. The site is full of historic memories. If you come via the trolley on the special event celebrating Whitman’s birth you will be festooned with wonderful tales.
Very cool little park, replete with a boardwalk, a few little bridges, benches, trashcans, and is next to a little river. Beyond the boardwalk you can find plenty of trails that run along the rivers edge for a nice nature walk. On the boards are quotes from Walt Whitman's poetry for your reading pleasure.
