Confirmed from Wildcat Mountain's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wildcat Mountain

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (6 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Great place to get a view of how big the mile high city can be. From up here you can see the front range and rocky mountains. Absolutely worth the hike if you enjoy the outdoor. The trails are great for hiking, trail running, and biking. Truly amazing and not a hard hike. Bring water to stay hydrate and enjoy the view.

Great easy hike/bike. There are 3 loops you can do, all similar difficulty. Probably not hard by CO standards, but loved 'em. Fantastic sunset hike ( 1 mile) from small parkin lot out to the edge of a rock outcrop looking out over the entire area from Chatfield all the way to Denver. Bring the dogs and kiddos!

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
