We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Wilderness Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wilderness Park
“Limited trails, but very quiet (except for nature's music), peaceful, and beautiful.”
“Very quiet with not too many people around, nice trails with a lot of wildlife like woodpeckers and squirrels.”
“Fun for the whole family kids of all ages and ability levels.”
A beautiful little park with lots of wildlife activity! On an average visit, I've seen blue Jays, hawks, butterflies, and lizards. The occasional deer or small mammal has been known to wander by as well. It's a really nice place to picnic or take small kids. There are some pretty trails as well.
Limited trails, but very quiet (except for nature's music), peaceful, and beautiful. Great place to escape for some alone time.
Quiet little corner of a wilderness park. Open to the public Monday through Friday and by reservation only for weekends. There is a small nature center, plenty of benches and BBQ areas. Nature trails, grassy areas. On 3/1/19 there is water in the small stream.
Our family camps here many times with our son’s scout troop. They have a nice hike here. Wilderness building. Full use kitchen and bathroom for camping activities. Eating area. Not 200 feet are homes so close to civilization. Highly recommend even if just visiting for the day.
