Confirmed from Wildlands Trust - Tucker Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wildlands Trust - Tucker Preserve
“Beautiful trails, bridges, river let's and mini rapids.”
“6 mile loop around the river trails, which wind in and out at street level and back in through clearly marked paths back into the woods.”
This was a story walk of historical proportions. There were little plaques along the way outlining the various industrial uses of mills and forges along the river and the many native tribes that once lived along it's banks and inland. There populations were vast until other settlers arrived.
Most pleasant trail, well maintained and well marked. Plenty on benches along the trail to sit down and enjoy the view of the river.
It is an easy but a nice trail. Trail map in the location was hard to read but the trail marks worked fine. There was a warning sign about the water in the preserve may polluted with mercury and it made me give the 4 stars since we did not want to feel the water.
Good place to do running and exercise. Trails are safe. To get here, on your way to downtown, go right off 14 west oldham and about a mile up the road another right onto west elm. from there if you make it onto an old bridge.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
