Confirmed from Wilton Town Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful hike especially the part next to the winding stream.”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“Plus trails were sometimes marked well and others were painted over but were not clearly marked near by so you have to do a bit of exploring .”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Just nature everywhere and more peaceful than intimidating .”

Love this place, these trails are not easy for someone who is not experienced in hiking. Wear a depends because there is no bathroom. The orange trail has 2 bridges out so did a lot of hiking compared to my other visits so don’t go on that trail for right now.

This is one of the best mountain biking trail I have rode on. Very scenic. Well maintained. Be sure to take the red trail if you are there for biking. It has some cool stony paths, tree paths, drops, up hills and down hills. Note that the red trail is one way. You take blue trail for up hill and red for down hill.

decent size parking I can see why so many come here now to mountain bike. wow that blue trail is very long I didn't do it all but I did a good amount and also went out on the yellow to another road and back.

Great place for a hike, but I went for mountain biking! Rock garden/pedal strike galore if you ride a low bracket mtb like I do. I would say half of the trails are pretty easy and fun. Rest require more experience! Still a fun trail to explore! I would definitely learn a lot if I went more!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🔁 Loop trail 7 mentions

“I took the red trail from blue felt like it never ended down to the orange and back but its a good distance say at least over 5 miles for that loop”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
