Wintergreen Gorge is an easily accessible paradise not far from the City of Erie. You can escape there. It's peaceful and filled with wildlife. Cascade Creek is shallow in most areas. It cuts a beautiful path throughout the landscape. The area is kept up well and the pathways are clear.
Beautiful. Not much parking but that’s the only “complaint “. People are friendly. Once you start walking a bit, you feel alone. I haven’t heard a voice in a good amount of time. Dog friendly. Well marked trails.
What a beautiful place! I was in town visiting some friends and they brought us here. So let me preface with saying that I am a big city girl and not one to go hiking nor am I “outdoorsy” so know that this is not my area of expertise.
I love bringing my kids here for summer fun. The swimming holes are perfect for all ages. My 12, 9, 3, and 2 year olds can all enjoy the water while being outside in nature. The trails were recently redone by the outdoor commission and are clearly marked.
