Confirmed from Wizard of Oz Memorial Oak Grove North Syracuse's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wizard of Oz Memorial Oak Grove North Syracuse

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (20 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

I lived in this area my whole life and didnt know this park was nearby ..The woods were full of mysterious shape trees .It was a quick hike but I dont think we went through the whole hike ,because it was pretty muddy from all the rain .I understand they give tours ,I'm definitely going to go on one

★★★★★ — Marian , May 2020

This is a really cool place to explore and check out some really old trees. The only downsides being the mosquitoes and several downed trees that can make the trails difficult to navigate, especially on a bike.

★★★★☆ — Alexander , Aug 2018

The entrance was a bit difficult to find and lots of mosquitoes but it's behind North Syracuse Highschool. nice hike otherwise

★★★★☆ — Ryan , Jul 2024

Really great in the fall, when all that leaves are changing going on to the trail little bit of forest in North Syracuse.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
