Confirmed from Wolf River Refuge Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

The trail was a great escape from regular suburban/city life. The trees create a nice canopy, so you're shielded from most traffic noises. It can be very shady in the daytime, so I'd assume that at night it would be very hard to navigate, but I think the trails close at sundown.

So much space to relax and meditate. Or walk your dog and have fun with.

If you’re a nature lover, this hidden gem near Germantown in the Memphis area is a must-visit. Tucked right within the city, it’s hard to believe such a lush, green escape exists so close to urban life—until you see it for yourself.

★★★★★ — Debisree , Aug 2025

Hidden gem for swimming: aside from the bike trail, continue walking towards the Wolf River area and find a small, sandy beach to hang out and swim. It is an incredible spot for swimming and having a great time with family and friends

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
