Confirmed from Wolfe Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
182-acre park featuring several miles of wooded hiking trails & a waterfall on Dorman Creek.
What runners say about Wolfe Park
“This park is very beautiful but it would be great if some trails were better maintained towards the back and added on to because you just don’t know where to go.”
“The trail itself was muddy, buggy and somewhat hard to navigate at times but aside from that it’s pretty well marked.”
“The woods/forested area was quite peaceful.”
We took a route that was about 2 miles in distance. The trails were pretty well marked, and there are newer trails that are meant to be traveled. It was a bit muddy in parts, but we were able to dodge most of the mud pits.
I saw some reviews complaining of poorly marked trails, but we had no trouble with that at all. A trail map at the entrance would be useful though. We had hikers aged 7-65 (with a Bassett hound!) and everybody had a fabulous time.
Trails were marked. It's muddy in some areas. Challengingly to get to the water falls. No easy trail for that.
Lovely area. I enjoyed a lovely little picnic near the water and enjoyed nature. The birds singing away, the ferns were just starting to wake up, the woods were quite lovely 🌳🌲🌎🪻🌷🍄🐦⬛🦉🪺 leave no trace guys! I saw a bunch of traces!

“Trailhead is easy to find, trails are well marked and trail map is available at the start.”
“A bit of an elevation increase (I think on Rim Trail Red) and many roots & stones would have me categorize these trails as more of a moderate level.”
“Nice place to walk dogs not usually a lot of people.”

“There is a restroom at the start of the trail and multiple benches throughout the trail.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
