Confirmed from Wonderland Lake's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Dog-friendly and popular trail featuring a lake, foothills and mountain views, plus a playground.
What runners say about Wonderland Lake
“it is great to spend hours or more to enjoy the beautiful scenery.”
“Great space for jogging, strolling, play with the kids (playground included), fishing and admire nature.”
“There isn't much shade so I recommend morning or evening if it's a typical Boulder summer day.”
“The most magical lake especially in this sunny day morning, the mountains, trees, houses even the waterfowls will be reflected into the lake surfaces, peaceful and calming.”
“Very easy trail, made for hiking, biking, running, dog walking or quiet deliberation.”
Beautiful area up in North Boulder! The trailhead is moderately challenging and has gorgeous views at the top. There are a couple of launch spots for paragliding too.
Great little neighborhood lake on the north side of Boulder. Beautiful misty/moody morning for a short Mother’s Day hike. The main trail up to and around the lake is flat and is covered with small gravel, which makes it easy to walk on. There are small trails to the lakeside, which are a little muddier.
Stunningly beautiful. A fairly easy path with great views and a calm energy surrounding it. Feels far away from the hustle of downtown Boulder even though it’s not far away. Definitely an area I plan to return to again!
A majestic stroll in the heart of Boulder. Very easy trail, made for hiking, biking, running, dog walking or quiet deliberation. On a Tuesday, 8am, it was a bit busy yet still lovely. The name fits perfectly.
