Confirmed from Woodchute Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Woodchute Trailhead
“5-2 miles in which opened up if you went up the path to a great view of Prescott and Mingus.”
“Pretty easy hike with multiple spectacular views.”
Nice trail. Rather rocky when ascending, but easily managed. I'm in my mid 60's and a walking stick came in handy while descending. Great views!
Beautiful hike! We went around a Saturday in May @ 9am. Trouble driving all the way back to the beginning of the trailhead 😬 I totally recommend a SUV or lifted vehicle (very bumpy/dippy road.) Some trailhead markers pointing drivers in the right direction, we did have cell service back there though.
Easy to moderate trail with some pretty sweet views from the ridge. Due to recent rains the trail was quite muddy in some spots with water runoff on the trail. Unable to do the full out and back because of mud and water but it was a great hike!
My second time hiking here and it's amazing! Pretty easy hike with multiple spectacular views. Make sure you have a GPS or using a reliable phone GPS map because once on top of the mountain the trail becomes more difficult to see.
