Confirmed from Woodlands Conservancy’s Woodlands Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“I also bring my dog here regularly, and it’s a great trail for leashed dogs who enjoy steady movement and calm surroundings.”

As a Cypress tree lover, this trail was amazing. All the different formations they made. Saw wildlife , 5 armadillos, 1 solamander, butterflies, squirrels, and 1 large boar. The trail is moderate as it has roots and cypress knees everywhere, there is a geocache route or whatever it's called and a few more.

The Woodlands trail is close to the city but offers a secluded retreat in nature. The trails right now are all really well groomed, offering a great place to trail run! I saw no critters when I went on a chilly morning mid Dec. Parking and bathrooms at the trailhead.

A hidden gem just 15 minutes from New Orleans proper. Pro tip, if you get to the SPCA you've gone too far. Posting a pic of the entrance sign, it is faded and easy to miss, so hope this helps. It's just before the Belle Chasse grade school, ALL the way down the long narrow gravel path.

Nature trail with two paths: one muddy, one rocky. This place offers night time adventures with reptile treks and the team is very knowledgeable. Great place to take a walk with your kids, your dog, or just by yourself, enjoying the nature and the surroundings.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
