Confirmed from Woolly Hollow State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Woolly Hollow State Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,295 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 11 mentions

“On a more serious note, you'll discover great hiking, easy access to the lake, plenty of room to move without crowds, clean restrooms, and a pristine Visitor Center.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Beautiful state park, hiking trails are great, beach area was nice, staff was very friendly”

We had fun! Free to get in. Free WIFI! There’s space to kayak, a swimming area roped off, fishing is good, several people camping (tents), and family friendly. The water is dark and murky —so didn’t swim. There’s sand in the swimming area and kids were having a ball. Bathrooms. Trails. Kayak kiosk.

Great little swim spot, friendly staff on the lifeguard stand, and in the concession! The food is awesome and the prices are reasonable. They offer peddle boats, and kayaks for rent (and a launch if you have your own kayak/canoe) and the park has lovely trails for walking or mountain biking.

Woolly Hollow State Park is a quick drive from Greenbrier, Arkansas and is based on a dam lake, Bennett Lake. This park has a somewhat secluded type of appeal offering a broad spectrum of amenities, such as hiking, biking, camping, picnic tables, snack bar, swimming, and more.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
