Confirmed from Yancey Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Casual park featuring tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball hoops and a creek.
What runners say about Yancey Park
“Great place for kids to play usually isn't packed and is always clean and has a good walkway for just taking walks as well.”
I really enjoy the new library. I go to yancy park and makd afew calls b4 getting on-line when i walk up there. Everyone is always so helpful and inviting even when i gave to bring my colasplible wagon full. Im so excited for our new livrary. Its so nice plus its so much closes to my home i dont have to walk as far.
It's a decent park, could use some upgrading on the playground equipment. & some fresh paint on the bridge & pavilion area. Nice little concrete loop to walk & do laps around. The basket ball court could use some upgrading as well. A close walk if you live in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Yancey Park is a nice little park in the middle of town. It has tennis courts, a walking trail, a basketball court, a playground, and pavilions. We have rented a pavilion for a party before, and have attended multiple other such parties.
Good simple little park. Small walking trail surrounding a small play ground. Some spread out picnic tables. It wasn't very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so it's probably not very populated most of the time.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
