Confirmed from Yellow Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded public green space with a playground, basketball court and tennis facilities.
What runners say about Yellow Creek Park
“The kids really seem to like the playground and the tennis court area is well maintained.”
“A really nice little park if you're looking for a short, scenic trail loop full of wildlife, a playground for littles, or some courts for tennis or basketball.”
The park is beautiful and there are geese everywhere. Unfortunately that means there is also goose poop everywhere!!! So watch your step! There are fun trails to hike but steep steps so beware. There is what looks like an old well at one point down the river at a big rock which is fun to take pictures at.
Millcreek Metro Parks have done a remarkable job making this a great park. The trails are nothing like I remember as a kid. It was so enjoyable that we visited 3 or 4 times during our recent 2 week visit to the area. Snakes, fish, crayfish, are a boys dream!
A wonderful little green space. I've spent the last decade in prayer and meditation in YC park. Great walks in the winter through the trails and all the surrounding hill laden scenery. A beautiful and necessary switch from the streets of NYC.
Great place to go for a walk, a few trails, waterfalls in certain spots depending on the water. Always a calming/relaxing time. Play area for the kids. Basketball courts & restrooms too.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
