Confirmed from Yellow Fever Creek Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Decided to venture out on a beautiful February day with mom to check out this place for a hike. Scrub pines, palmetto bushes, a small lake but not much shade. Nice path that is maintained. Saw several other people on the path. We did both the yellow and green trails. In total about 3 miles.

Great Lake at 3 minutes straight walk from Parking. Good for Yoga, Exercising, reading a book, etc. you can camp I guess there is a paved spot maybe 20x20 in front of lake. Safe distance. Hiking, MTB welcome. Did not see enough for a road bike, need to have hybrid tires.

There are 2.5 miles of sandy, grass walking trails through the preserve, as well as a walkable preserve boundary that goes around the entire perimeter. I also found a frisbee/disc golf area off of the green trail that looks fairly new.

I have been going here daily for a week in the late afternoons. So far I have seen a wild pig and 2 piglets, a tortoise, a very large rattlesnake, several armadillo, and another snake that disappeared in the brush before I could get a good look. I love this preserve and many people bring their dogs.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
