Confirmed from York Woods Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I love running/ walking in the York woods. Great place to relax and be with nature....They have a good picnic area as well and ample of parking. Look out for deer close to sunset. I have seen a family of 4-10 multiple times at this location. Enjoy!

Easy walk around, no wild life but lots of dog walkers. We always see the nice painted rocks on the trail too 😀 thank you to who ever does that, I'm always looking for them

Very peaceful long trail with clean and comfy rest areas! Loved it. Perfect place for long walks with your life partner. Enough place for big picnics too. Construction is going on by the entrance road, but other that that would absolutely recommend for an evening walk!

Beautiful park to walk and enjoy some beautiful trees in the fall as the leaves begin to change. While visiting they had a maintenance crew cleaning up and making the grounds look very nice. Highly recommend this place for a beautiful day.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
