Confirmed from Ala Moana Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 100-acre park with a man-made beach offers usually calm surf, plus tennis courts & a pavilion.
What runners say about Ala Moana Regional Park
“The view is so beautiful here and the park was mostly empty when we went.”
“Tends to be a fairly busy park great place to go for run, walk, or just chill on the beach”
“Nice beach, water so calm in lagoon.”
Its a beautiful and large park with public access to the beach tough. There are enough slots to park , many people walking, surfing or just sharing a barbeque on the large extension of grass with many big trees shadowing. I was in the second week of June and the only "but" was the incredible amount of flies around.
Our main purpose when we came here was to watch the Friday fireworks. This park is big and has nice views of the city. It’s also a great place to relax, hang out, read a book and walking or jogging It’s a great place for kids to play in the playground or run around.
A nice park with plenty of grass and some good paths throughout. A great place to have a picnic or simply to walk or jog through. There is a small sheltered public beach at the end of the park and a couple of food shops within, though only one seemed to be open.
The sunsets here are gorgeous. There are always beautiful people in the park doing some beautiful things like “bubbly therapy” or “dancing as the sun sets”. It’s a great place to run and place for kids. Locals are always around and it makes it an integrative experience. I did Tai Chai one morning.
