Confirmed from Allaire State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Such a beautiful historic sightn my mom's been bringing me here since I was young so I have a lot of memories bike riding here and walking through the area.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“It is truly a great place to visit for all ages, and you could literally spend hours here.”

Beautiful grounds and historic structures. Perfect for a walk and a picnic with the family. The trains are breathtaking. The furnace is towering. There is a nice little walking trail and a wooden bridge over the stream leading away from the spillway.

I stopped by this State Park through recommendation from a co-worker, and I am glad that I took their suggestion. It is truly a great place to visit for all ages, and you could literally spend hours here. My main interest was visiting the village, which holds so much history.

★★★★★ — Lisa , Apr 2023

Nice train ride ($6 per person, babies under 3 years old are $2). Important note: train ride only runs Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am-4:30pm. Train leaves every half hour. Also you can get close up museum and you get to see how "back in the day" was like. Nice scenery and walking.

★★★★★ — Henry , Aug 2025

This is a beautiful park, with plenty of places to walk and get fresh air. The kids absolutely loved the play area! Swings, slides, climbing walls, drums, and musical poles. The historic village is great for educational purposes, and a very nice train display.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
