Confirmed from Allegheny River Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Allegheny River Trail
“Very nice path along the river, well maintained and very level to walk along.”
Clean and well maintained. No separate running/biking lanes but wide enough to pass by without a problem.
This is a great trail if you like biking. Running is good too. The trail is mostly flat with small inclines and offers great views of the river and the wildlife. I've biked this whole trail on a 2-day journey and it was a blast! I highly recommend this trail.
Amazing peaceful little riverfront trail. What an awesome little gem, to be so close to the strip and downtown and have such a quiet walking area? Incredible.
Walked from the North Shore to the Terminal on Smallman (Strip District). Very nice path along the river, well maintained and very level to walk along.

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
